I am not a born salesman.  Indeed I got sacked from my first sales job; they said I was too shy and withdrawn.

But I persevered and finally got a job in the life insurance industry.  I made sales almost immediately but I didn’t hit pay-dirt until 2 years later.  That was after a more experienced and successful rep by the name of Robert took me under his wing.  He showed me EXACTLY how he was crushing it.

After watching him in action, I was gobsmacked at how easy he made it look. There was no hard sell, no unethical practices – just a helpful attitude, a kind heart, and a disciplined approach to making sales.

It starts with the conversations that prospects have in their head.  It’s your job to know about these internal discussions.  Then you can create a messaging strategy that will stimulate and inform initial and follow up convos between you and the prospect.

Discussions can take many forms and don’t always require doing sales appointments. Indeed I’ve made many sales by having empowered text-based conversations with people on Facebook Messenger.
